FLIGHT TRAINING STEPS
If you are an international student aiming to become a commercial pilot in the U.S., the first step is to obtain an M-1 student visa to study at AOA.
Our experienced Admissions Officers will assist you throughout the M-1 visa process. We will assist with the TSA application process and coordinate your arrival to ensure a smooth transition to the USA to begin training.
Once you secure your visa, you will enroll in one of our FAA-approved training programs. We will help you obtain your Private Pilot License (PPL), then progress to an Instrument Rating (IR), and finally, a Commercial Pilot License (CPL).
Our program includes ground school for theoretical knowledge and ample flying time, where you will train with instructors and independently.
During your training, you must also pass a medical exam conducted by an FAA-certified doctor to ensure you are fit to fly.
After obtaining your certifications, you can build flight hours on the M-1 visa if you complete your Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) and Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) during the curricular practical training (CPT) phase.
Make sure to keep track of your visa obligations and adhere to the regulations set by the FAA and immigration authorities.
